"Must Try" Food Places in Vienna

Food in Vienna Okay, this is something I find mandatory, knowing that I have lived in Austria for almost 2 years now. I know with my love of food, cooking and travelling, I confirm myself as quite trust-able in my judgement when it comes to food. To me, when you are travelling, or eating out, it is not just about the taste that makes the food great. It s also about the price, portion, freshness and the most important is the “localness” or “trueness” of that food or how that food should be presented in the way its place of origin would present it. Even if you are already at the local place, you sure know if something looks touristy. That’s why; I always avoid eating at big restaurant, with English menu (in non-English speaking countries) or pictures displayed, because they tend to be pretentious. Also when eating street food, you can expect authenticity quality with less price, but doesn’t mean you just pick any pizza slice or order any kebab that could probably taste “meh”. You h

How I deal with HOMESICKNESS

Homesick... This one word, I am pretty sure many of us have experienced it; Students on exchange, people going on expat missions, and works that demand you to travel. It came across my mind earlier today when I met other exchange students. I haven’t really been home for a long time, and everytime people asked me whether I have felt homesick, my answer would be, “Yeah, sometimes. But I get over it quickly”. Well, It’s true because I feel like I am always busy and engaged each and every day of my life. But when this feeling comes, you can’t really deny it, nor can you distract yourself to ignore it, because the minor thing  can get built up to a big block of desire to always seek something related to home.  And of course this is not a fun feeling because you may end up spending so much money on snuggle pillow, giant teddy bear, cooking utensils, or even the last minute plane ticket! Haha, just kidding! Homesickness comes, even if it s just craving for a certain taste of home food

My Mediterranean food story in Greece!

Hi Guys! Here is my food story from my short visit to Athens, Greece in summer 2016! My culinary experience in Athens was so unexpectedly great. At first I though it will be just about yogurt and salad, (hahaa, I mean the kind of food I was not raised with) but obviously it was more than simple seasoning! Greek food is similar to Turkish food or other middle eastern food which means that there are plenty of veggie options. There is something about how Greek food have all the ingredients combined, and produce the most amazing, unique taste, that you will never forget. In science we call this an "emergent" taste! >.<  Here I show you the timeline of my culinary journey in Athens. Of course when picking these places, I always google searched the most "local sounding", non pretentious kitchen that serves food from heart.  Day 1 Cretan food A place called "Kriti", Near Omonia Metro station   This is the amazing taste of wheat g

The Garden Restaurant - My Summer in Croatia

My summer break in 2016 was spent in Croatia with my 4 girl friends. It was a great week full of tasty food, beach days, and sunshine. So here I want to show you the culinary experience that we had once in Croatia. The "Garden" Restaurant in Rab town This place has a nice romantic vibe, and you can sit inside but still feel the open air. We all tasted different fresh seafood dishes. The squid goulash with polenta is their famous local dish. This is the dish that I ordered and I enjoyed ied it to the last bite. The cattlefish risotto is simply delicious with squid bits in it The fried calamary with french fries tasted so fresh Seabass with sauted spinach and potatoes. Nothing could be better than a whole fresh fish in a holiday island The green pasta with gorgonzola sauce. It was surprisingly not as heavy as she thought it would be This place to me is the number one restaurant in the whole Rab island. I guess in total we paid around 500 kuna, wh

Easter Holiday: My first Disneyland experience!

Hello there everyone!  Happy Easter!  Hope you all had a great long Easter week, and finally tomorrow head back to school or work with a fresh start! Alright, so, I would like to write about my experience; my first-time visit to Disneyland Paris.  This happened 3 days ago, because my sweet beloved Boyfriend is generous enough to pay for my ticket, plus it was also during the Easter break, and we decided to take a 3 day holiday to Paris. I can say that this is such a dream come true because last year, I only visited the city in less than 24 hours (as I went during my layover) and my boyfriend visited Paris alone too. Both of us thought that we should come back to this romantic city together and experience what we had missed before. Yippie! We booked our flights from Vienna to Paris. The flight was early morning at 6:30 am and we could not catch the night bus, because we didn’t know the exact stop, and the metro has not started operating. After walking here and ther
